Imagining Transmedia: How Multiplatform Storytelling Is Reshaping Culture (Publisher: MIT Press)

Over the past decade, narrative has broken free of any single medium. Imagining Transmedia, edited by Ed Finn, Bob Beard, Joey Eschrich, and Ruth Wylie, gathers international practitioners and scholars to explore how this transmedia storytelling shift became the default grammar of media consumption and self-expression—reshaping education, entertainment, and public discourse.

Contributors from around the world share firsthand pioneering experiences, including Ioana Mischie, transmedia artist who introduces Omni-transmedia, a new methodology for building holistic stories inspired by her work on Tangible Utopias.

Popular Culture and The Civic Imagination (Publisher: NYU Press)

Popular Culture and the Civic Imagination, edited by Henry Jenkins, Gabriel Peters-Lazaro, and Sangita Shresthova, gathers more than thirty international case studies of creative social change from movements around the world, proposing "civic imagination" as an iconic framework for identifying and practicing new forms of communal participation.

Contributors from around the world share these case studies, including transmedia artist Ioana Mischie, whose chapter "Tzina: Symphony of Longing" explores how volumetric VR was used to archive the nostalgic imaginaries of a marginalized public of a square before its demolition.

Cinema Infinit: An Introduction to the Transmedia Universe (Publisher: UNATC Press)

Cinema Infinit is a book-manifesto, a book-mosaic, a book-inventory—an exploratory encyclopedia of a field in constant redefinition: transmedia. Structured across three chapters (Transmedia Roots,  Contemporary Transmedia Worlds, and Transmedia Futurology), it archives dozens of transcontinental best practices for the first time while introducing twenty new concepts of its own.

Written by Ioana Mischie in 2019 as a PhD thesis and published in 2022, the book speaks to multi-generational professionals across cinematography, media, visual arts, virtual worlds, immersive media and contemporary storytelling.
